I'm considering heading over to Silverstone for quali on Saturday, just wondering if anyone can confirm if there are still plenty of fields close to the track where one can park for sensible money? In the past, I always went for the whole weekend and either stayed in a tent or used park and ride, this time I want to just go for the day. I remember in the past going past fields that had been opened up for parking by opportunist farmers.

Does anyone know the situation, please?

TIA.

I've used Porterswood Farm on the Whittlebury Road to park before. I stuck the bike in the car and rode in from there. Took about 10 mins. Head to the Becketts entrance going through Whittlebury Hall.

I used these guys (http://www.silverstonegrandprixparking.co.uk) in 2017, 600m from main entrance but didn't queue at all when leaving straight after the race. Never got away from Silverstone as quickly before.

They do/used to operate a free parking with a random fine system in the circuit main car parks. Last year I think it was a £50 "fine" for parking at the main entrance, but the previous 4 years there was no penalty - free parking. So basically it's cost us £10 a year so far...

Just wanted to thank you for this, I was there on saturday, and we decided just to risk the fine as hadn't pre-booked. We did get a ticket, but it was only £32.50 - only £5 more than the on the day price - we couldn't find anyone to pay on the day! It was worth the risk and the extra fiver to be parked just over the road from the main entrance and not having to walk miles to the space 'd booked in Silverstone village. Think it would have been more on the Sunday though - sadly we only had Saturday tickets.
