weird world of eddie jordan predictions

Anyone else confused. He claims vettel has lost it at ferrari but somehow he will be put in a mercedes?
Hamilton is at the top of his game winning titles but for some reason he will chuck it all away and go to Ferrari.
Acts like some sort of sage of F1 but its only gossip he gets from some contact that heard something in the cafeteria and then he blurts it all out on tv.
Yes some things are correct but its more miss that hit.
Hamilton to mercedes is not that big a deal as Lewis knew mercedes from his mclaren days.
Never seems to have an opinion on anything juicy like his old pal vijay and the force india mess or the rich energy nonsense.
Was always tearing into mclaren so you can guess its all personal agenda driven really.
Still great TV though and the look on webber and couthards faces is always priceless so on the whole its good having
him around.

The rest of the Ch4 team are taking him to task about his McLaren predictions that have not quite materialised, what with them being fourth in the table. If/when Renault get their act together and, perhaps, get a point or two more than McL, EJ will 'remind' us of how astute his predictions were.
I cherish the memory of EJ's comments about child rearing that earned him a few second's silence and a long stare from Ms Wolff.
It's not his predictions, nor their (in)accuracy that irritate me, or rather irritate me the most, it's his self-agradisement. There are also the way he murders the English language, and his ability to extend a question for a paragraph or two. And his predictions.
A fine example of the chap not really getting it was when he was asked about Whiting and he wandered off saying what a nice bloke Vettel is and how his command of English is immaculate. I mean, as if he'd know. Not very respectful of Whiting.
He has his favourite drivers and teams, and those he is contemptible of, but is no worse than many in that respect, even the like of Hunt, but please, no more with the Vettel love in. He'll notice Hamilton is one of the greats soon. Or maybe not.

I really don't get the hate for Eddie. I don't find him offensive and he adds colour. I respect him for what he achieved.
I can only assume that a number of F1 paddock regulars take a similar view as he still appears to have his sources- even though he has left some people red-faced over the years.
Unless you believe the man is literally fabricating all of these stories from nothing, you do have to appreciate that he is willing to connect some dots, stick his neck out and say some bold stuff. Surely the conversation is better for it.
I don't personally think his Hamilton / Vettel swapperoo is going to come to pass but it's surely not beyond the realms of possibility, so how can I rubbish it?
Am I better connected within the F1 paddock than Eddie Jordan?

Well said. I just don't get the hatred at all. I can only assume that a number of F1 paddock regulars take a similar view as he still appears to have his sources- even though he has left some people red-faced over the years.

Well the child rearing thing, with the greatest of respect, he's right about. You can't do both, and I could never see Mr.Wolff taking a year or two off to look after Wolff Jnr just so Ms.Wolff could have a crack in a Williams.I cherish the memory of EJ's comments about child rearing that earned him a few second's silence and a long stare from Ms Wolff.

And the Whiting thing, I don't think they liked each other. So what point is there saying how great someone is when you never had a nice word to say about the guy alive let alone when he's dead.
As for Vettel going to Mercedes and Hamilton to Ferrari - I think it could happen. Ferrari has destroyed Vettel, he's never been the same since he went there. I think Mercedes would be a far better team for him to be at, and it would do wonders for Mercedes to have a 4 time German champion winning races in their car compared to a Brit. As for Hamilton, look at the love Mansell still gets from the Ferrari fans, and could you just imagine the history blokes if he went to a 3rd team to win a world title? From memory I don't think any driver has won world titles across 3 teams.
There's a lot of pull either way. Hamilton can only retire or go to Ferrari, there's no where else. Vettel will be leaving Ferrari but is no where near ready for retirement in my opinion.
And the views expressed in this post are my own, and nothing to do with the crate of V10 energy drink EJ may have given me.

I don't hate, I think it is amusing. He does not appear to give a stuff about what he says....
Which is completely against this new PC World.
Don't get me wrong he can seem on an illegal substance at times but his energy is amazing.
I hope I have some of his energy at 71. I honestly thought he was younger.

I think he gets a lot of his exclusives from here. There are plenty of people desperately trying to justify Hamilton going to Ferrari for reasons they're unwilling or unable to explain.
Why did Schumacher go to Ferrari? Or Kimi (ok, not same league)Ask any driver, Ferrari has a mystique about it that is hard to describe. I think it would be very hard for Hamilton to not at least have a conversation at Maranello. He would have nothing to lose in exploring it...

I noted that, post-race, he could not bring himself to say a single positive thing about Sainz's drive even when asked directly - he just wheedled away about their less-than-recent history rather than their improving performance this year. The mute button was on and off frequently on Sunday, what with Jordan and Horner both regularly delivering their own brands of "look at / listen to ME".

Nobody gives a f

The juice is only in performance of teams or driver interest. That’s life.
I disagree. I think part of the fascination of F1 is the fusion of the talent of the drivers and the tech of the cars, coupled to (in my humble opinion) it being the ultimate expression of sport as a business: hundreds of millions of pounds, hundreds of employees at each team, all focussed on putting 2 blokes in 2 cars on the grid for 20-odd weekends a year, and the machinations and intrigue that go on behind that I find fascinating. The lifestyles and peccadilloes of those involved, the celebs on the grid and in the pit garages are part of the heady cocktail, and if F1 lost that, I suspect it would be of considerably less interest to the more casual viewer.

Now the quotes have been floating around, the context has been lost. I believe after the Lewis to Ferrari and Seb to Merc conversation post race, DC or Steve challenged him on where he gets his information from and he said something along the lines of, jokingly, 'It's all just my opinion, it's what I think will happen'. So, a lot of it is more than likely his own thoughts, getting thrown in for some juicy conversation.
I don't have much problem with him during the build up or post race convos. He was however pretty boring and rambly during the on-mic sections they gave him during commentary for the practice sessions.

Remember when in 2009 Massa’s skull was fractured by being hit on the head by a spring and at the time no one know how serious it was? EJ stated on camera in the pit lane that his sources had told him that actually it wasn’t serious at all and Massa was fine. DC and co quizzed him over who exactly his sources were but EJ refused to explain

And even then not them... Whyte bicycles are well regarded. But why so angry? Are you Bullitt Five-Oh in another guise?
k they are apart from cyclists. Not expecting to see much EJ on C4 the rest of the season but if available he should do a story of how crap racing point are this year when every other year as force india they were 'punching above their weight'
The only thing missing is vijay and bob. Maybe FE had a 'closer' relationship with mercedes with the happy duo onboard.
