Spain remains...

Hardly a surprise, it seems this is how desperate venues handle things these days.. celebrate a last ever F1 race, fill the stands and then announce a new deal that must have been on the table for many months prior etc etc etc..
I thought it was worthy of a thread. Not really sure what to say personally. It's a 'meh' circuit. I think it's a great test venue but that's hardly a highlight of our sport. If I had to choose 5 circuits to sack off this would be in there. The first 3 would all be France.
Anyway, having never left it's back! Thoughts..? Comments..?

I'd happily see it gone. Plenty of other Grade 1 circuits up for grabs which provide better racing. At the end of the day though, better racing actually has nothing to do with it, it's just about money.
Did find it quite interesting how many complaints there are on the Instagram announcement they made. Basically nothing positive!

One or two duff races on the list but Aus takes the prize.
Any mounting excitment building for a new season is soon dashed as that clunker kicks it all off.
Suddenly any lingering doubt you should have took out a subscription to sky fades and you congratuate yourself for holding your nerve.

Couldn't agree more. Generally in TV they put the best shows of a series at the start, middle and end to reward the viewer. Obviously with live sport you can't do that... But you can avoid the first race being almost guaranteed to be the second dullest of the season.Any mounting excitment building for a new season is soon dashed as that clunker kicks it all off.

Kinda has to start in aus if there is an aus circuit, but Melbourne really is a poor circuit and aus has better to offer.

Clearly not confident of packing the place out - I've just had an email from them offering a GA weekend ticket for €99
