Scuderia Alpha Tauri
Discussion
This will be fun next year with Alfa Romeo and Alpha Tauri on track, a brilliant bit of marketing from Red Bull though, to get people searching for their clothing line provided at astronomical prices, but we will suffer, having to listen to Crofty and his mind melt trying to distinguish between the two teams.
F1 branding on the fringes really is a bit of a mess, isn't it. Ferrari and Mercedes are fine of course, and Red Bull is just a marketing exercise dressed up as an F1 team.
McLaren have successfully leveraged their brand into a road car division.
Other than that....?
Renault continue to shoot themselves in the foot.
Haas mis-stepped with Rich Energy
Williams - has anyone ever seen a Rokit product?
I am actually struggling now to remember some of the other names/logos on the cars.
Racing Point is the strangest to me as Stroll snr. owns a slew of high street and premium brands including Ralph Lauren Tommy Hilfiger and Michael Kors (AFAIK he offloaded Pierre Cardin to none other than Mike Ashley) yet none feature prominently.
As for Alpha Tauri - sounds like a '70's sci-fi show to me.

Because racing point doesn't sell £700 jackets
I’d make a wild guess that not many people are going to suddenly want to buy these £700 jackets just because Minardi/Torro Rosso whatever has changed its name? They have just launched their unknown brand into a massive public eye, it is a good bit of marketing

Alpha Centauri is a star system I think? Definitely used on the latest Lost In Space, it is very cheesy.Alpha Centauri is indeed a star. It is, in fact, part of a triple star systems where three stars are circling each other. One of the other stars in the system, Proxima Centauri, is the closest star to our Solar System being about 4 light years away.
Alpha Centauri is actually the brightest star in the constellation, Centaur. This is the scientific technique used to name the stars in each constellation - the brightest star being named "Alpha" with the second brightest being "Beta" and so on.
There is indeed a star categorised as Alpha Tauri - which is the brightest star in the constellation, Taurus the Bull. However, it is very rarely referred to as Alpha Tauri because it has a proper name of its own, Aldeberan.

Torro rosso is a version of the name red bull . Actually better imho as its sounds like a racing team rather than a drink.
If he wants to sell the team to someone else or make them look like a seperate entity it makes sense.
Shame the name torro rosso will disappear.
It's to promote the Red Bull clothing line. Nothing to do with trying to sell it.If he wants to sell the team to someone else or make them look like a seperate entity it makes sense.

Asda ownn brand of energy drink is called "blue charge" Would love it if they launched a team
They could team up with Williams, got the same colours as their current non-available-to-buy in any store sponsor, would make an easy swop and a million times more credible....Something like this.

On the other hand, having two teams with the same name does mean he'll occasionally make sense when he mistakenly refers to the wrong one
