low res twitter video appears to show Lewis pulling back on the wheel.

Do we think this is DAS?

To me it looks like it

Does look like it.

Why is that the only example though?

Looks like refraction caused by the water running down the lens to me.

It's not DAS. He does not pull the steering wheel.

It's wet and there are water droplets on the camera lens, distorting the view slightly. When the water moves across the lens it gives the appearance of the wheel moving very slightly, but you can also see other stuff that should be fixed move very slightly as well due to the same water droplet distortion.

The video in the OP conveniently stops before it is very clear that he does not push the wheel forwards again at the end of the straight, or at any other point in the lap.

There is a much higher res video of the whole lap here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uE7CNFsgtNM

On a side note, I'll bet they're annoyed their magic trick was on display, and -then- the season was delayed.

Might depend what they've learned from it.

It'd be hilarious if they come back without it and other teams with it. smile

I can't imagine they would do it in such an overt way where a camera can see what is going on. If they were to do this then I'd expect some switch they use with their knee, foot or reverse of steering wheel not in plain sight.

So this is just rubbish imo.
