The official F1 YouTube channel is premiering the 1986 Australian GP tonight at 7pm. This is at the peak of the 80's turbo era!

Also, see link below for the qualifying session for that race:

The 1985, 1990 and 1996 Australian races were on Sky Sports Mix the other week. It brought back some fantastic memories. The 80s and early 90s were F1 at it's best, proper drivers, proper cars, proper circuits.

I watched that, really enjoyed it! Surprises, or rather reminders, were how much action there was despite only two cars finishing on the lead lap, how different the cars all look from each other in shape, how epic Senna looked in qualifying and then helpless in the race, and Prost who was doing nothing at the start and then just picked up the pace quietly until he was setting fastest laps, but still didn't look like he was trying.

EDIT: Oh, and watching the qualifying link, how much more interesting qualifying was when you just had a 1 hour open session, go out as many times as you want and try set a fast lap. This was clearly before the days when it was 50 minutes of nothing and then 10 minutes of everyone qualifying at once
