Official 2020 British GP & Anniversary GP Thread *SPOILERS*
Discussion
Here’s the thread to get us started on the British GP. Surely this has a Mercedes win written all over it, with maybe a Racing Point to finish on the podium.
Albon needs to get closer to Verstappen in qualifying, Russell needs to convert good qualifying pace into points, Ocon needs to impress and Grojean needs to stop upsetting his boss, so plenty for us to watch behind the Merc 1-2.

Last year, Lewis Hamilton took a record sixth British Grand Prix victory in a thrilling race featuring a crash between Max Verstappen and Sebastian Vettel.
Battles throughout the field created a dramatic race - by far the best of the year to date- as Hamilton benefited from a safety-car period to take a lead he never lost after Valtteri Bottas had held back an early attack from his Mercedes team-mate.
Behind them, Ferrari's Charles Leclerc and Red Bull's Verstappen staged a duel for the ages in disputing third place for the first third of the race. Their exquisite driving would have been the talk of the day had it not been for the collision between the Dutchman and Leclerc's team-mate Vettel, for which the German four-time champion was given 10-second time penalty and two penalty points on his super licence.

First respectable length circuit so far this season too - so once again we will see a different kind of race - the fourth different kind of race and the fourth race - quite a feat considering two of the previous were on the same circuit

I have nothing against Merc,/LH/VB, but I really wish for once they’d knock each other off at the first corner and give us a more interesting race amongst the remaining 18 cars.
If the TV directors do their jobs properly, the presence or lack of the Mercs at the front should have little no bearing on the racing behind them. kambites said:

In the Hungarian race we had Hamilton off into the distance all on his own and the TV director all but ignored him. Bottas’ race ended up quite thrilling when he was trying to chase down the Red Bull, although he failed to do so. We saw some tremendous racing; Leclerk and Norris showed some quite mature moves, especially given their ages. So I had a good race without collisions.Talking of collisions, me thinks there is going to be one off track soon.
Vettel and Perez are going to hv quite a coming together and sadly it looks as though Perez is going to lose. Sad really, given his talent. Seems everyone can see it coming but can do little about it.
Daddy owns the team. No contest. Shouldn’t be allowed but the stewards can’t do anything.
The very worst of F1 Money culture unfolding in front of us.
But Perez and Vettel together would make a strong team..and Daddy’s boy reduced to reserve driver.

Actually, I think you’ll find it is quite unusual for the level and extent of its domination.
It's degree, not kind though. I find it hard to blame Merc for producing such a superb engine, chassis and other stuff. Or for buying whom they see as the best driver for them. I wish they hadn't for at least one aspect. As it is, we've had three interesting races, each with their fair share of thrills and excitement, even if the winner was pretty certain from the first few laps.
I think 2019 was one of the best seasons I can remember for quality races, almost, but not quite (Oz was dull) from the start. Baku was my favourite, with the Ferraris taking the front row, and Leclerk nearly, but not quite, the win, but managing, through a little French assistance, to get a podium. But there were others whom others think were better. A good vintage year. You never know, this one might build for the end. LH is into banning country.

So far this season Stroll is earning the place.Vettel and Perez are going to hv quite a coming together and sadly it looks as though Perez is going to lose. Sad really, given his talent. Seems everyone can see it coming but can do little about it.

??? He has 6? Granted he managed to get 4 in one weekend, so another weekend like that and he'll be on the bubble, but he's not there yet. It's actually very out of character, his total in previous years are (from 2014):
0 2 0 2 0 3
In one race this year he collected more than in all the years from 2014-2018!

Compared to sebs running average Lewis's is very low! It's actually very out of character, his total in previous years are (from 2014):

I think he'll be fine. In fact, other than Bottas he's not likely to come close enough to other cars very often so minimal risk of more points.
