I watched the Ginettas at Oulton the other week and , for what they are , they're entertaining and fun and I am sure offer a good grounding in racecraft . They did for Lando N and Jamie C , both of whom I saw from trackside.
But sense of proportion alert - Ginettas are a cheap ,slow spec formula , and ideal for beginners. FF1600 usually offers better ,and faster racing and as for F1 , it is not, and never has been an overtaking fest . But 1000bhp and 180mph through Copse - Copse , for Christ's sake! - elevate it to a different level. I miss many aspects of F1 I've seen in the decades I've watched it (eg V10 and 12 soundtrack , closer access to track and easy access to paddock etc ) but it is still the best show in town

Maybe but it leaves me cold watching it. I know it's fast and the cars are incredible but it doesn't come over that way on TV. The driver turns the wheel one way and then the other. No drama, no catching it, no feeling of riding a wild beast.Mini's were the best racing of the weekend for me in any broadcast and there was a lot going on this weekend.

I am sure you're right , from your own perspective as a TV viewer . I'm in the minority which far, far prefers live stuff , but even on telly the F1 pace at Silverstone is jaw dropping , especially so as I am very familiar with the place .Which is more than I can say for Baku ...
But live -bloody hell I' d love to been there yesterday .

No need to apologise, I thought it was the most gripping race so far this season.
Mind you, I watched it live on Sky. Watching it on Ch4 you only have yourself to blame.
This. And yes I can criticise much of sky's presentation and commentary too... But in the end watching live and seeing a race develop in real time trumps whatever C4 can do with the highlights.Mind you, I watched it live on Sky. Watching it on Ch4 you only have yourself to blame.

Maybe if you don't mind paying silly money for it, but I won't and much prefer DC to MB anyway! And going back to the top of the page it's all about Ginettas and they were live on C4 as part of the BTCC package.
Although I just went and did something else between the BTCC races as for me the rest are just filler.
