Should the race format be changed?

Can't say I like the idea of the standing start for restarts during the middle of a race, It seems like it might be best to alter the format into heats or stage racing as in NASCAR with points scored at the end of the final for instance.

I do find it a shame that the weekend format was never altered to try out something different at the twin races at Austria and Silverstone for instance.

On a side note, how did people persist with the old aggregate system? I remember and still think it kinda ruined the 1994 Japanese GP for me.

A standing start is used in most other formulae after a red flag , at least those that started the first time on the grid .
