Vettel's Helmet Auction

I see that Sebastian's Turkish charity helmet is on sale with Tom Hartley. I see they are inviting bids > EUR25k. I know it is for charity but i wonder what it will go for. It is a silent auction so hard to say where bids are at.

I am guessing it will go for a lot given that.
- Seb is a multiple world champion
- He has said he wants to keep all his Ferrari helmets
- It is not a replica and is a one off.

What's your guess on what it will go for.

And it's quite possible it was worn for the last podium he scored for Ferrari, depending how the next two races go.

I'd say it'll go for €150,000.

Well it is currently at 50k (Eur) so I would say 100-150k quite easily.

Give it’s the only Ferrari helmet he’s given away, and the auction is for charity, it’s sadly going to be in the way too expensive category.

It appears that €162,000 is the record price paid at auction for a helmet, for a Senna helmet sold last year.

I am watching the current bid and having a hard time imaging who is bidding that much. Obviously the fact I can't imagine means I'm not one of them, but this must be speculation at work. I know some people have big money, but it is a helmet at the end of the day. I know it is for charity but still.... I would be wondering how I get my money back one day.... yes, not a high flyer clearly.

Bearing in mind there are charity auctions where you could take a £10 note of out David Beckham's wallet and someone would bid 1k for it..........The actual "value" isn't relevant in some charity auctions as it is "being seen" to be generous that counts.....

Never sold one of his Ferrari helmets so it’ll be unique, it was worn on the race were RG had his massive crash so it’ll be a little bit more memorable , raising funds for charity, there’ll be some wealthy folk fighting for the kudos of paying big money for a one off.

Perfect storm for a big figure sale price.
