I guess he couldn't face the anticipated abuse from Alonso about how the car can't perform how he wants it to and the relation with Red Bull as engine supplier.

No doubt he will be going to bigger and better things.

Is the Championship winning Suzuki MotoGP Team Manager who also worked with Rossi while he was at Yamaha taking that role?

Davide Brivio - perhaps. Also a rumour that the current Renault F1 Technical Director, Marcin Budkowski, could step up in to the role with Brivio having an alternative senior role.

The way these things typically work, there is about a week between booting the current TP and wishing him well... and then finally announcing that they had his replacement lined up months ago. We will know very soon, we must know soon - they have to unveil their car soon enough and get going with this season.

Italians (Rossi and di Meo) running Alpine? I bet Alonso is having sleepless nights already....

He may not have enjoyed his time at the Italian team, but he did pretty well last time he was at Renault while it was run by an Italian.

Edit- first time not last time.

Ultimately it won't matter who runs the team if Alonso decides to have a strop. He'll just lash out at everyone.

Whether a big reset by the parent company or being unhappy with Cyril, I ultimately feel it's the right thing to do. What Cyril said was usually what was Cyril's agenda and not necessarily what was the best agenda for the team, putting getting his opinion heard above running the team. Whereas even Horner manages to put running the team first before appearing on TV.

What’s Flavio Briatorre doing these days? Surely he’ll have sent in his CV.

I had no idea this was coming. Maybe he is worried about too many tattoos?

If he had the same deal with Fred, I’m sure he had nothing to worry about smile

Cyril, if I don't win at least 6 races, this is the tattoo you must have on your face - "fking formula three TP".

It's sounds like he was persuaded to leave, probably with a handsome severance package rather than be fired
but I could be wrong.

Let's hope Fernando does not say 'GP2 engine' biggrin and if the car is unreliable they best get him a deck chair.
