New F1 safety car?
Discussion
It was only too slow for the F1 drivers, as they want their cars to keep everything up to temp.
It is probably too fast for the marshals who had to go out onto track to clean up debris and circuit staff who had to repair any damage - and I assume it's the safety of the marshals (and further car damage from debris) that they're more worried about than the cars cooling down a little.
Don't forget that if they make the safety car quicker, you'd end up doing more laps under it and risk finishing more races under it - as the marshals/circuit staff would not have enough time to clear the track.

I've seen an article that Aston Martin are supplying the new F1 safety car?
Only problem is it's 3 seconds a lap slower than the last one (that all the drivers said was too slow), and they have killed a pair of brakes already. Oooops....
Both Merc and Aston are sharing safety car (and medical/delegate cars) duties this year. I'd imagine they go through quite a few sets of brakes every year; anytime I've been to a race the safety car and medical cars have been pounding around the track at full whack during the set up days.Only problem is it's 3 seconds a lap slower than the last one (that all the drivers said was too slow), and they have killed a pair of brakes already.
