Teams are not allowed to change the setting remotely so after the umpteenth engineer instruction to a puzzled driver today I got wondering if there is a rule stopping the driver just pressing a button and repeating the code to an onboard voice activated computer?
Save all that pissing about with dials although those knobs and dials do look impressive like your old 70s stereo does.

Given how well voice command generally doesn't work in a quiet room, I can't imagine it being a success inside a fairly loud racing car. Oh and it'd be pretty costly and massively complicated..

That sounds like F1 massive price inflation for anything to me. some sort of mobile phone from tescos and a usb cable would do the trick lol

Err, nope.

Sporting regulation 27.1. “The driver must drive the car alone and unaided”.

Well, I can ask my car to do all sorts of things via voice commands, what it actually does is another question............ Sometimes it gets it right but..........
