I'm trying to find a figure for the number of laps raced in f1 from the beginning of the 2009 season to now.

Google not being very helpful. Anyone able to help?

Wikipedia lists the schedule for every season, then a report for each individual race, including the number of laps.

A bit of a boring task for you, but the information is there.

It’s 15,000 ish.

To one significant figure, 60 laps a race, 20 races a season, 12 and a half seasons.

If you want actual numbers, then they’re easily researchable. A GP is 300km and a lap.

Times the number of cars, using a factor for cars that didn't make a full race?

Say 16 car average is 240,000 laps

It's a fair question, it is for a statistic on our website. We have run a system for some F1 people since 2009.

If you want the actual number you will need to check all races as some may have finished based on time limit rather than laps.

Safety car can also have quite an impact on number of laps, depending on how many times dispatched and for how long

But safety car still changes the lap counter which classes as "race laps"
