Is there anywhere we can watch it? I've had a look on F1TV Pro and it's not on there, and the F1 Academy website doesn't seem to list any live coverage aside from timing.

Edit: and a quick google later indicates its a highlights package shown a few days later. Is that right?

It was a highlights show on between qualy and teds notebook yesterday, the presenter must have thought it was for eight year olds and they showed about one minute of each race

12 minute highlights package for the first (30 minute) race, posted on the official F1 channel so it might actually get some views.

I like the way they’re integrating the series much more into F1, with the main teams sponsoring a driver, and the races being on the F1 support calendar this year. It’s one hell of an opportunity for the young ladies to show themselves to a wider audience, after last season’s disappointing schedule.

They’re also introducing wild card drivers for each event this year. First race is in Jeddah, and will feature local Saudi girl Reema Juffali who competed in GB3 a couple of seasons ago. https://www.f1academy.com/Latest/2DbOBZ5QGTexgOHGp...

Formula 3 driver Sophia Floersch says F1 Academy is being used as "pinkwashing", a term which indicates being superficially sympathetic towards equality or inclusion without seriously attempting to improve the situation. The claim comes after inaugural champion Marta Garcia conceded that last weekend’s Formula Regional European event in Monza was “probably my last race in a single-seater”. Garcia had been competing for the Iron Dames team and completed the campaign as the lowest-placed driver to have started all 20 races failing to score a point and recording a best finish of 14th.

Basically, F1A is of no use whatsoever.

And Lena Buhler - who finished runner-up to Garcia in the 2023 F1A - abandoned her 2024 FREC campaign with eight races to go (after scoring zero points).

As a concept, F1A is fine. But the series can't exist in a vacuum if it's to have any meaningful purpose. It should be acting as a springboard that develops drivers and prepares them to do reasonably well in other championships.

The same Sophia Floersch who is currently 29th in the 2024 F3 championship with zero points despite competing in every round?

All of these female drivers are a joke, I don't understand how they get so much publicity and help.

Unfortunately talking a good game on social media and looking good in the overalls is never going to make up for actual results.

To be fair to Sophia, she’s been pretty consistent in her views on the subject since declining an invite to qualify for the original W Series about five years ago.

F1A is as much about getting 8-year-old girls into karts today, as it is about getting a woman into F1 any time soon.

Yes, with the exeption of Jamie most of the women in top class motorsport have had a poor season in ‘24.

Never going to happen as they will never be able to get enough points for a super licence. You need 40 points over three seasons to get a super licence and the F1 Academy only gives 10 points to the winner. The only way I can see this happening is if F1 Academy allocate more than 10 points per season and one driver wins it three times in a row.

Even then no F1 team is going to give the person a seat in F1, think about it, there are F2 champions who can't even get a drive. If they did give a woman a drive who is only there due to results in a ring fenced series I think they would be exposed within half a lap that they are massively out of their depth.

Think about how hopeless drivers like Mazapin, Sargeant and Latiffi were in F1 and they had all done reasonably well in F2 and F3.

There is zero chance.

Great interview with F1 Academy champion Doriane Pin. She talks about her 2025 season, winning the title with Prema and Mercedes, learning from Hamilton and Russell, and her plans for the next step in her F1 Academy career:

Thanks for posting that, great interview! Dori has been a worthy F1A champion and brilliant ambassador for women in motorsport, look forward to following her in whatever she decides to do next year.

I think she s trying to decide between a full-season FRECA effort or going back to endurance racing. The former is going to be a lot more expensive, but if she wants to move up the ladder it s the logical next step for 26. She will have learned a lot having being around Mercedes and Prema for the past couple of seasons, with Lewis and George among her mentors.

Earlier this weekend, Pin was in the W12 Mercedes for 76 laps of Silverstone for a day of testing.

She’s doing LMP2 in the ProAm class, this year.

Talking to someone today who said that her small size is worth 1sec a lap, but she will struggle, strength wise, with the steering forces of most single-seaters.

This is remains the limiting factor for most girls getting into F1. But, it is still good to see these initiatives getting more girls into top level motorsport, if not yet F1.

JC is also doing elms again, and has stated she was not really strong enough for Indycar, also, like Pin probably knows she is not really quick enough to be in F1, despite them possibly being a little easier to drive some ways, harder in others,

But don't think sports cars are easy, long stints, far more cars on track, fuel saving, lappery like you have never known in your life, it's not 3asy
