Don’t fully understand the question, but do recall, as a kid, seeing Mike Thackwell and being told he would be a future F1 world champion.

Jamie Green - he was a natural talent in 2003 F3 - but never made it into F1.

Tommy Byrne: Faster than Senna
(Just not a PR person)

Brian Henton: Multiple champion... but a dire F1 career.

I remember Heikki Kovalainen was to be the next big thing for 2008.

Wrong, though.

Ah, and a certain rookie named Lewis Hamilton got paired with the current double world champion Alonso for the McLaren superteam.

Watch and learn and try to keep up...oh, wait

Wasn't Senna quoted saying "if you think I'm fast, wait until you see my nephew Bruno?"

I said in the Jamie Chadwick thread, that this is the biggest problem with getting more young girls interested in motorsport.

Dirty, noisy, smelly, polluting, and expensive things to run, we need to ban horses.

(On topic, there’s a long list of future world champions who have gone nowhere. Stoffel Vandoorne was a recent one).

Almost everybody thought Jan Magnussen was going to be the next Senna. They were right but only if they meant Bruno rather than Ayrton.

Rubens Barrichello never quite hit the highs expected of him, he was to be the next Senna when he first arrived in F1.

That’s a bit unfair. He gave us so much entertainment with all his crashes.
