Less said about Monaco the better, but at least qualifying was as outstanding as usual. We’re onto Barcelona for the final leg of another triple header, and the main talking point will be which teams have to make changes for the new flexi wing regulations, and what effect this will have on performance. Red Bull seem to think it will get them back to the front, but I’m not so sure.

McLaren must still be favorite for the win and is pretty relaxed about the changes. Norris seems to be gaining in confidence and I think he will just beat Piastri, who is maybe beginning to feel the pressure a bit.

Max and the Red Bull will be right there though, Mercedes should be a bit better than Monaco but expect Ferrari to struggle here, until it updates its rear suspension.

Here’s to a great race.

Blimey! No rest for the wicked is there!

Thanks as always PiaP

Voted for Lando, but really not sure what the flexi wing changes will bring.

Love Monaco as an event, but hopefully this will deliver a race!

Weather forecast is looking hot and sunny, which should suit McLaren.

Some commentators think the new flexi wing rules will shake things up, while others think it will have no effect at all, so who knows.

I’m hoping Tsunoda has a decent weekend or could we see him being dropped from the second RB seat

But who would RB put in it. I’m struggling to think of anyone who hasn’t had a go in it.

Thanks PiaP.

It is hard to look past McLaren 1/2 this weekend, but unlike Monaco this time I went with Oscar for the win.

I think Lewis will have a good weekend so I've optimistically voted for him. He goes well here, performed last year and, ignoring the team nonsense, has had decent pace over the last two weekends.

Thanks PiaP!

McLaren in front but George to podium. Hopefully we all get some exciting racing without the manipulation seen last week.

In the hotter conditions I think Max will have trouble with the Ferraris again while Mercedes will tend to be at the foot of Q3.

Lando’s experience must begin to tell at some point. He has raced F1 at Barcelona many times now.

They had a driver in their ranks who had proven that he could compete with Max in equal machinery, but someone (Marko I assume) refused to put him in the car for a few races when Perez was on the downhill slide. Too late for that now but it was such an obvious option it has to point to the oft-mentioned idea of RB wanting Max to appear superhuman?

Is there some new information about Tsunoda's future that I missed, or is this just internet tittle-tattle?

Thanks, PiaP.

The Tsunoda-chat I think is premature rejectulation (TM). It’ll be at least half-2 until they weigh up popping Hadjar in ahead of 2026, if performances continue as they are for each.

Lando for the win here.

A bit harsh on PiaP there. I'll just thank him for his efforts, which enhance F1 for me.

I suppose I can file the Tsunoda rumours in the same place as the story about Ferrari approaching Horner.
