Only one sprint race has been announced as far as I know at the Dutch GP :-

“Formula One announced a one-year extension on Wednesday for 2026, when the race will be held in the sprint format for the first time.”

Thanks, hopefully, before too long, we will find out what the others will be.https://www.reuters.com/sports/soccer/verstappen-s...
Formula One announced a one-year extension on Wednesday for 2026, when the race will be held in the sprint format for the first time.
Last year the annoucement was on 11th July.

The calendar annoucement on 10th June this year only confirmed the Sprint at Zandvoort, and that there will be five others. Hopefully we’ll find out soon!

That Sprint calendar is a leak at the moment, originating from the Dutch GP account, and not an official annoucement from F1 - so be careful about making plans based on it!
Don’t think much of Silverstone or Singapore doing the Sprint, two circuits that don’t have much of a problem filling the stands on Saturdays.

Typical FIA, has now confirmed those same dates as were leaked a month ago. https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/article/formula...Don t think much of Silverstone or Singapore doing the Sprint, two circuits that don t have much of a problem filling the stands on Saturdays.

Slightly off topic but couldn't see a thread on it.
Sky sports are reporting that the number of sprint races will be increased to 9 or 10 next season and the announcement will be made when the calendar is released in October.
What are people's thoughts on this?
Personally I like the sprint weekends. They are much more interesting than practice and is better for the fans at the circuit. 10 seems a bit too much though. 6 seems like a good number, although I would do a draw excluding Monaco to see which 6 circuits get the sprint.

Like you said, they add extra interest and spectacle. Viewing figures must broadly reflect that view if they're adding more. In that respect it's a democratic decision.Sky sports are reporting that the number of sprint races will be increased to 9 or 10 next season and the announcement will be made when the calendar is released in October.

Personally I was always slightly against the idea of sprint races as, whilst it sounded fun, it would detract from the GP itself... But now we have them, I don't actually feel like that anymore. 2x the jeopardy of qualifying in one weekend is, simply, better

Non Sprint weekends are pretty hopeless on a friday as people at home probably check their phone more than they watch the TV.
If you have spent $$$ on a ticket you are just seeing some cars trundling around in front of you. Similar to the F1 testing days. I seem to remember going to one and it was free to get in,as they were honest enough back then not to think it had much value to a viewer.
Sprint weekends are all pay attention viewing.
The only people I would think would complain are the teams who get less time to breath.
