Which speed camera detector?

So my Dad's looking for a new speed camera detector system, and the two that seem to be the main contenders are the Road Angel Professional Connected and Pogo Alert Plus.

Which do we think is the better unit for £250? Does the Pogo unit have mobile camera van locations like the Road Angel Pro Connected does? All previous experiences and advice appreciated, thanks.

I have the pogo drive. No the alert does not have live mobile camera alerts like the other. However it is a fantastic piece of kit and is infinitely adjustable to your requirements in things like how far away you wish to be alerted to cameras how loud you want each different alert to be etc.

It shows your average speed through specs and how many cameras have gone by and how many left. It is exceptionally accurate positioning wise.

It does warn of known sites for mobile cameras however it is indiscriminate and not an alert to say there is a camera van at the site at the time.

I tried a RA not the connected and found it to be utter st. Loads of false fixed cam warnings missed loads of fixed cams etc. However it seems to be a popular piece of kit.

we had a Road Angel sat nag and it had no sense of direction and the speed camera location wasnt very good either. When we took the Porsche to North Wales we bought a Snooper speed camera detector and it is very very good and not badly priced either, would certainly recommend it.

So you reckon the Pogo Alert Plus is the one to go for? Does it warn you of known mobile camera sites?

Yup although annoyingly as yet you cant turn the warning off you can only mute the sound.

The way i look at it is i do 50-60k miles a year and have done for a good few years and haven't got a ticket yet.

You cana lso get an app for your mobile which will do the whole mobile camera warnings.

Don't want to spoil your fun gents.......but current laser speed guns will have 'caught' your speed 0.3 seconds before your detectors audible alert...............

Think OP was looking for a satnav like device that has a memorised list of cameras, or a live subscription whereby people notify each other the live location of scamera vans. Not one that tries to detect/jam the laser or radar signal from speed guns etc!
