Do they mix??

Considering getting one, would want to use it as main family wheels...

Neighbour has an A5 Convertible. The 2.5 yr old boy loves it but their 6 year old daughter isn't a fan. I think the biggest problem they face is leg room for the younger one with the Stage 2 car seat.

I took a mate out years ago in my TVR Griff. His 3 year old son sat in the bit between & behind the seats. He started crying at 40 mph.

Never had the roof down in the first 2 years of my sons life, sorta wished I'd waited a little longer but I don't really regret it.
Although these days I have the roof down as much as possible.
The only down size is the boot space.

Driving home at 9pm last night in her MR2 my 2 year old son asked my wife to stop and take the roof off! There is hope!

Myself and the Mrs were due to take some friend's two toddlers to Chester Zoo a few years ago in my A4 convertible. Not only could we not fit either of the pushchairs in the boot, we also couldn't fit either of the far too chunky child seats in the back without breaking their legs. This was in a car that could be viewed as a sensible convertible.

By all means get one, just not sure it could be used as an only car.

Once Mrs Sb has got her breeder wagon, I'll be saving up to get another A4 or similar.

You're not meant to put your son in the boot!

Macho posturing aside, try travelling in the back of a 4-seater convertible, it's considerably less comfortable than travelling up-front (think wing-walking). Also, lifting toddlers into a rear car seat in a 2-door car will put you on first-name terms with your local chiropractor.

.

My daughter has been traveling to nursery in the Marcos since she was 18 months ... loves seeing the 'birdies' and 'airyplanes' and shouting "faster Daddy, faster" - she's 3 now.

We've only had to stop to retrieve Teddy once after he 'jumped' out of the window !

That's because he was sitting in the front. Different story when they're perched in the back with a 60 mph wind in their faces!!
