impreza wrx stood for 6+ months

Having noticed a nice blue wrx (52 plate) being stood at work here since i started 6 months ago i have admired itva few times and love the sound of them.
the owner has been away and by chance his friend saw me admiring it today and said he would find out if he wants rid. He said he has not seen him using it even when the owner was about which worries me. He also said he has another wrx in wales which does not bode well unless he is a real wrx enthusiast.
i gave his friend my number and said i could be interested. The discs look orange and i will get some pics in an hour when i go by it.
Am i mad?

I would never let the fact a car has been standing put me off.
Ignore rust on the discs - discs and pads are a service item anyway.
You might get a few electrical gremlins popping up if it's been stood, but generally it's connectors that have just got a bit of moisture in them. As long as the motor is OK and the price is right - go for it.
