Anyone here over 25 years old and paying more than a 1k or more for car insurance?
CRITERIA
Must be actual prices paid - not quotes
Also no exotica or anything too expensive-the more cheaper and humdrum the better

If you add a person under 25(or whatever it is) on the policy ... yes

10 years ago I was paying £1300 for fully comp on a Rover 216GSi.
But then I did have 11 points on my licence.

My Polish tenant has a 2.0 Prelude, and paid 1300 for his first year of insurance. He's 27.

Mmm , very very few indeed
Can lessen the strict criteria with prices close to 1k and more sportier stuff

My brother is 25, just passed his test and the quote on a 2006 1.2 Ibiza is £1,450.

That sort of fits criteria - but it is a quote as yet smile

I think to find people that fit your criteria (over 25, fairly innocuous car and paying >£1k insurance) you are looking in the wrong place as members here will generally be reasonably clued up on these things and unlikely to pay such ridiculous amounts. There may be a couple of people with assorted motoring convictions who pay that but they'll be unlikely to speak up I'd guess, as on PH all are driving gods (myself included).

My gf is 29 and paying £1200 ish for a 1.3 Fiesta because she lives in the sttiest area. She only passed about 6 months ago. When she passed her test, it went up an extra £200.

She did phone around a long list of companies.

I noticed that if she told the insurers she lived at my address, it would drop by well over half...

Insurers seem to prefer a unsafe driver to a unsafe postcode

30, 04 2.7 boxster worth not loads, costs 1400 pa. Non garaged wrong postcode is to blame - we're both point / accident free, both driven since 18.

Last year, I considered getting a winter mx5 for sts and giggles. Lowest I could find was 800 pa, for an 800 quid car. Buggers.
