You might be able to google it to get an idea of where it should be, but essentially you need to mask the kick up to the side. I would suggest either finding an assistant and getting them to stand in front of the car to the nearside with the lights on while you try to mask the light that goes up into their eyes (use a piece of paper or something initially, then use duct tape or masking tape or whatever).
Other (probably easier) option is to park close to a wall, in the dark with the lights on and try to achieve the same thing - a flat topped cutoff rather than a kicked-up cut off.
Or just ignore it and take a chance - maybe I've been lucky, but never been stopped for not having them in many journeys to the continent.

Wouldn't it be silly of the manufacturer to post information online about where to apply the stickers ?
