Why is it that people can't admit they've made a mistake?

40mph dual carriageway, cyclist crosses over the two carriageways way ahead. No problem.

I see another one on the other side starting to cross the other carriageway, and that's much riskier, so keep eye on him in case he just jams across the central reservation without stopping.

Which he does, causing me to have to sound horn, start braking and as he takes no notice then stop pretty damn quick.

The fecking idiot then cycles across really slowly grinning like the chimpanzee he is, dismounts, and as I get going again aims a kick at the side door. He missed, the prick, too quick for him, evaded you there you tt.

But really, what... the... fark!!!!

I hate them. The worst ones are from the lycra spandex brigade, on the country lanes, 2 or 3 abreast, often slowing you to a crawl, or making overtakes difficult or dangerous.

I hate cyclists, even more i hate these fking cycle lanes the council puts everywhere.

In my town, they've recent converted a one way two lane carriage way into a 10ft wide path, a 5ft wide cycle lane and a single lane of traffic. The traffic jams are now so much fun to sit in for twice as long.

fk you cyclists.

There all s, and so are most motor cyclists who seem to have tiny dicks, when you over take one as its going slowly, they accelarate, and think its funny. We all know most bikes are faster than most cars, so why not pull back the fking throttle in the first place and stop fking about? Start racing and have a collision and its second place for the bike, which is quite entertaining for a car driver.. Why dont they just get a fking move on in the first place and stop riding like proper s?

I've seen some crazy cyclists, the way some of them swerve around the road (whilst only having one hand on the bike) made me think some must be cycling whilst under the influence!

Others continue to cycle on road and pavement despite there being a cycle lane in place, I've seen several on the phone whilst cycling, others steering using just there legs, hilarious!

I wonder if you can get done for drunk-cycling idea

The moral of this thread, is of course that there are some cyclists who are complete and utter tts and belong underneath the wheels of a lorry . . . . . just as there are also tts who drive cars, ride motorbikes and even some who amble along on foot, who also belong under the wheels of a lorry . . . I've yet to meet a tt who uses a Space Hopper to get around . . . which may be the answer wink

As a pedestrian and runner, cyclists are generally a pain in the arse. I do most of my training in winter and usually have to dodge chavvy cyclists on the pavement, usually unlit.

Buuuuuut I have been cycling the half mile to work and go back and forth home for break times. My bike has lights (that work) and in the winter I will wear my Hi-viz work coat. Every day I get overtaken with hardly any room at all and it is usually by people that look like they would have kids that ride bikes and should know better. I've even been overtaken while clearly signalling right while right on the white line, but I know where he lives and my company vehicle is bigger than his.

Not everyone is like that though. There are plenty that give me loads of room and are happy to hang back instead of barging past between me and a traffic island.

A little consideration by all parties would be usefull

talking as someone on both sides of the divide , it's the fking aholes in cars when , whilst riding my bike, insist on sitting 6" from my rear wheel in a 30/40 zone and then try and overtake me as it changes into a nsl!!!
i presume from your post that you must have a huge dick and drive with absolute precision at all times

oh and it's they're not there

There are idiot cyclists and idiot motorists. And there are considerate motorists and considerate cyclists.

Not all cyclists are idiots. I am considerate. I am a motorist and a cyclist therefore I try and show consideration to the other when out on / in the other form of transport.

The problem is that society is largely inconsiderate. And hence we continue to end up in these situations.

i must admit , i don't really understand the poor attitude of some cyclists , i mean i know they're extremely vunerable but they do themselves no favours by abusing any other form of transport

+1.

I'm a cyclist, pedestrian and of course a driver. D1ckheads come in all flavours on the road, branding everybody the same is just unfair.

But the OP's rage is understandable given his encounter with a complete idiot who's days are numbered by the sounds of things, which maybe a slight consolation!

Yes, I hate that "I'm a cyclist so I can do what I want" attitude. If only they'd just stay at home.

There is a specified offence of 'Drunk in charge of a pedal clycle' however there is no legal authority to prove the amount of alchohol hence can't brethalyse them.

There is also a fabulously worded offence under the Town Police Clauses Act 1889 called 'Wanton and furious Cycling' which is just BRILLIANT!

Back when I was a BiB on foot patrol in Brighton I gave someone a FPN for this for utterly dangerous cycling in a pedestrian precinct. Guy could NOT believe it! Priceless. biggrin
