Hi, I'm not sure if this is the done thing or not but I'm looking for a car in the Stafford area to take my father and his partner to their wedding in Stafford on 27th August. It only a small affair with 12 guests so I'm not looking for anything really flash like the traditional wedding style. Maybe a mk 2 Jag or similar? Here's the catch, I'd like to do this as a nice surprise but I cant really afford the £500 or so it'll cost to do this though a company so I'm thinking maybe someone could help out if I were to cover their costs and make a decent donation to a charity of their choice?

Many thanks

Alistair

Nice of him to join, lay some groundwork with a dozen posts before doing the asking though, eh?

To be the one, insurance for carrying passengers on their wedding day, and associated lateness or failure to arrive or injury might be expensive.

Thanks for the input guys, am just looking for something nicer than a taxi really, the rest of us will be going in a minibus or taxis to the little cottage where they're getting married. It's a fairly low key event as he's in his 60s. I just want to do something to make it a little special for them. I only joined PH recently but have been reading for quite some time and will continue to do so and contribute where I can.

I genuinely only had this idea the other day after I asked my dad how we were all getting to the wedding, but if u wish to believe that I've only joined to blag a lift for my dad then you're entitled to your opinion. I'm talking about a charity donation of up to a couple of hundred quid BTW not a fiver or something, depending on the car.
