should come one way or another , that small size will shear off easily if you give it a heave

try some penetrating oil and use a 6 sided socket rather than the 12 side to lessen the chances of it rounding

In many cases you can leave the manifold on and remove it with the head as one unit.

in his case it doesnt look like the rocker cover would come off with the inlet on

btw...the head bolts will be way tighter , so have some weetabix

Try slightly tightening it first, usually enough to break the corrosion.
