13 weeks after the Birth of Baby Willis its pretty clear the O/H wont be returning to work, which means selling her freelander and I have to make a hard decision and grow up a little.

I'm currently considdering trading in my Porsche Cayman S for a 2008 Merc C280 Estate, I have looked at one today and they seem well put together and a good looking car with the sport styling options, I have never really been a Mercedes fan but they do seem pretty good value.

Are there any owners that can give me more of a heads up? any ideas of realistic fuel consumption figures owner experiences etc?

I'd like to hear any ideas on any other makes and models that will go quite well with a budget of around 20k, non rediculous running costs and a classy feel? Looked at the BMW 5 series estate but not overly taken by it.....

Please help me, am I doing the right thing?

c class estate doesn't have an overly large or overly accessable load area, I'd take all your baby bits along to a viewing to check they all fit in ok. if they do, a 3-series estate is probably a better steer

Good idea, the boot looked a reasonable size but the opening was a bit questionable!

I had an e91 325 Diesel saloon a few years back, it was a nice car but they seem rather pricey for a high spec low milage example in comparison to the Merc. Possibly a good reason for that??
