what do you think to this?

OK after asking about a van... Well the guy wouldn't budge on the price and the unsurance was going to be mad. However after re-reading the thread, I realised that a few of the posters were onto something about a bigger car...
So I found this: http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2011...
Does it look decent to you experts?
Thanks

I, on the otherhand disagree on the above.
110BHP will give a nice drive in that car.
It won't be a slouch at all and should return 50+ on a good run, which I guesse is what you're after (economy).
The price seems ok, and I've seen them get that sort of figure at auction (give or take) within the last few months. Has to be worth between 2100 - 2600 surely? Either way it's "or near offer" in the ad so if you go to see it you might get something off.
Look for injector problems and iffy turbos on the 1.6HDi. Personally given the choice, I'd go for the 2.0 HDi (110) - although others may disagree. Check if the 1.6 gets cheaper tax (think it might???). However the mileage is to be expected for that type of car running an HDi lump which is a popular choice for private hire's etc. The panoramic roof will make it feel nice too.
Cambelt is important too so check the status of this with evidence it's been done to schedule and when's next due.
Good luck whatever you decide.

Thanks for the comments and advice.
I know that the 1.6 HDI isn't going to be a racing car. But I'm 21 and insurance is a huge issue for me... I'd be happy to sacrifice 10mpg but this car will only add 90 quid to my insurance...
Also I am told that he has reciepts for the water pump... Not sure if this means that he doesn't have one for the cam belt. In reality I'd want to get it done anyway.
I've called the guy and am going to see it this evening. After test driving it, if it's decent I'll offer him 2k... I know that he won't accept that, but if I can point out I'll need to get it serviced and cambelt done I think 22/300 is fair...
Also he pointed out that the center display (thing showing mpg and radio station) goes dim in the hot and you can't see it well! Is this something to be wary of?

It's not a van.As much as I'd like a van, I need to be a bit practical. The nissan van bloke wouldnt budge on the money by one penney... And when I looked up insurance it was going to be crazy... On top of that I decided I'd need to keep the car I have and tax and insure and service that as well... Why? Well I don't really want to drive 200 miles to see friends in sheffield in an unreliable van.
So I decided I'd try and make a little compromise (atleast til I find that I can definately get work)... And I though that an estate would be the way to go. I can stick lots of junk in the back, and can still at a pinch drive it around when I wasn't working.

Try reading the OP again...
the word you'll be looking for is right at the beginning "after".
It's my fault. I previously said I was going to go for one...

But back to the thread in hand.
1) How much would a cambelt cost?
2) What should I be looking out for?
3) How much would you be prepared to pay for it...
