Apologies if this has been posted before, I did a search but couldn't see it anyway!

Anyhoo, Citroen have had to recall some C3s in the UK because of a rather strange design flaw. While converting the car from LHD to RHD, they have simply used a bar to shift the brake pedal to the other side, meaning that the brake can be operated from the passenger side!

Absolutely terrible design, and quite dangerous. More can be seen here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-13447395

Most LHD->RHD conversions are like that, except the bar is covered by trim.

You would have thought that they would make the trim adequate enough to prevent it being pushed easily though!

The Watchdog report (presuming that's what it is) is scaremongering rubbish. Yes, there's a minor issue, but anyone who suggests that it would induce "panic" is a knob.

You're an idiot. The majority of RHD cars are like that. Even my Mondeo has a bar with the brake master on the left. Only cars I had I can think of that had the brake master on the right were Vauxhalls - that design prevented the Mk4 Astra getting the 2.2DTI that was available on the LHD cars.

Yeah, but this is Citroen. The regular C3 we had was made of such crappy plastics on the inside it was unreal
