Right,

Here's the thing. I went out for a date last Sunday. Couple of coffees in the afternoon which led to dinner. All good so far. Very attractive lass of German extraction.

We're going out again this Sunday. I'm working in the late afternoon, so we're going climbing then some Sunday lunch.

I will probably have to drive, and meet her there, to get to work in time.

Here is my car. She does not know of this yet.

How exactly does one tell a potential German suitor of their WW2-themed vehicle??

Why will it be an issue? It's not like she'll be able to see the car!

Tell her your Grandfather was a Kamakazi pilot and he bought you the car as a gift a few years ago wink

Have you got time to paint it a bit more grey and perhaps a couple of discreet swastikas stitched into the headrests?

She will most likely chastise you about your inaccurate knowledge of history, then point out that hairdressers were of course confined to barracks during the war and not given their own transport to the front.

If you haven't smashed her back doors in yet I'd suggest you hire a car for the day!

If ever the cost of a hire car was justified, this has to be it - good luck!

Aaargh! If it wasn't a Sunday I probably would hire a car. Hertz is my usual weapon of choice although it seems their past special offers no longer count- Want to charge me £220 for a Getz for the weekend!!

Will think up some creative solution...

Got nobody particularly local! Other trouble is that, as I am just running the Mazda whilst searching for a new car, it's on a classic policy and doesn't have DOC cover...
