OK, I admit that I should grow a pair and actually buy one - but the fears of Ferrari 328 ownership keep me firmly planted in my Lotus.

Anyway, I want to take missus on a fancy country break next month and to keep me entertained while she's talking at me, I'm going to hire a Ferrari 328 GTS.

Has anyone got any experince of performance car hire? I've only really looked at Bespokes who seem reasonable but would like to hear of any experiences.

Cheers all

Well, I went from an Elise to a 328 and have never regretted it, very similar drive below 80mph and the 328 just keeps going.

Friends have had / still have Griffs, V8 Esprits and Elises and to a man they all think the 328 is a lovely car. Get a good one and you will not regret it, but it will cost £2kpa to keep on the road.

Not heards of the guys you mention, but Bespokes have a pretty good reputation.

Be warned, try a good 328 and you will (probably) be hooked.

Thanks for the advice Wezo, I fear that may be the case... I'm rather excited, however I'm limited to 225 miles and at £1 per mile overage - I'd better control myself!

From the Bespokes website, it looks like a 4 day weekend is £750, including 300 miles, then £1 a mile.

You've have to try hard to do much more than 550 miles in a weekend, unless you were planning on a massive road trip, and that would be £1000 before fuel.

I'd say that was pretty reasonable myself, since a minibus for 3 days unlimited miles cost me £220 the other week.
