Interior not to European standard IMO but they look good (Legnum is
), are cheap, go like stink and are easily tuneable. What's not to like?
The interiors are ok tbh mine was a N plate 96 and the interior was just as comfortable and well made as a same aged mondeo, BMW 3 series and certanly better than a bloody Vectra!

Very good and reliable cars, the only down side is the mpg and service intervals but obviously that depends on your own situation.

Plenty of former owners I've talked to would disagree with the reliable claim
though I'm sure there are good ones as well as bad ones. 23mpg at the best seems a common figure (PH owners can correct me on that if I'm wrong), they do like a drink.I vote(d with my feet) Legacy RSK/GTB instead.

Never had a single problem with mine 18 mths of ownership, that's not bad for a car of its age.

Loved my vr4, mine was a '99 saloon with 280bhp, if you can find a later 'super' they have recaros although the red steering wheel isn't to everyones taste.
Main thing to check is auto box at higher miles. Test drive it from cold and check for any lump/clump between 2nd/3rd at decent amounts of throttle, new boxes are expensive.
Servicing for AYC is 4500 miles.
I'd get 21-22 mpg on the motorway between 80-90 leptons, hammer around the b roads and you'll see low teens, you'll generally get 200 - 230 miles a tank.
Amazing fun to drive, bit of a sleeper and does raise a few unsuspecting eyeybrows when the go pedal gets pressed

Strewth that's thirsty! I've considered one (in passing) as something more grown up to move on to when I finish with my 944, but never realised they were that uneconomical to run! Another one gone from my 'must own one day' cars thread ...

Pfft - It's only about 38pence a mile at todays prices, back when I had one I could fill the tank for £50 on super, kind of got attached to mine to the point I was still using it as a 2000 miles a month commuter even though it meant I was paying to swap the ayc every two months Another one gone from my 'must own one day' cars thread ...
