Surname spelt incorrectly on V5

evening all

got my V5 through for the Clio today and my surname has been spelt incorrectly.

Is it a big issue to get it fixed or should I just not bother?

My surname was one letter out on the V5, when i put the car on sorn and applied for a tax refund they would not pay out as it was not registered to me ! Still fighting it with the DVLA, totally ridiculous.

I should be getting my tax letter through before the end of next month so I don't want to cock anything up either

Just send it back and get the mistake corrected, it's no big deal

If you're not going to bother, just make sure any contact you have with them is with the incorrect surname, or you will have issues like the guy above.

Mine was wrong. There is a bit on the form where you can make corrections, post it off and it comes back correct. No hassle.

Mine had a letter missing out of it too... It was really clear, too! Seems quite common.

From reading the V5 I see that I have to fill it in again as if I was the new keeper and send it back with only one signature.

Here's hoping they don't get confused again.

Mine was wrong too, there's a bit saying you're required to correct any mistakes - it'll only cost you a stamp and an envelope to fix.

Well, I'm pretty sure I haven't sent this off yet (unless my parents did) - and my tax reminder came through yesterday with my surname spelt correctly on it? How does that work?

I think the form even has a section telling you what to do to correct errors.

My wife had this, so sent it back and then they lost it.

So she asked for a new one to be sent out (at cost to her), which they wouldn't correct before sending, so she then had to send that back fully special deliveried etc, to correct the mistake. When sent back they had then got it wrong again (since been married and went from one name to another, but retained the Miss)
