Looked like the front suspension gave way to me. It dropped pretty quickly - fwe red faces thee I bet!

It beached. The armoured 7 series had a bit of a scrape just beforehand. I'm amazed they haven't put airbags in the suspension on that thing, it would be quite useful to have extra ground clearance if needed.

Various twitter discussions have led some of us to believe that the car can drop on its suspension and hunker down if attacked. Look the the footage, the wheels fly up into the arches in a way that beaching it wouldn't. Possible suggestions are it could do it to prevent anything getting under the car, or be part of some anti-flip mechanism.
