In Cheshire, seriously, just drove 2 miles and saw eight black Range Rovers, and one grey one, mixture of mainly the RRS and 2 FFRR (one being the grey one), is there a somewhat limited available colour chart in the RR brochures ? or do RR (mainly RRS buyers) lack imagination ? is it being being they look daft in other colours, is it for resale ? saw a nice metallic red one the other day, looked great.

Dont get me wrong I have no anti RR agenda, they just seem to be a bit predictable in going for black, then sticking a private plate on, they are as anonymous and numerous round here as a white transit !

Try it in London, must be a real pain prodding your remote at the wrong car every day.

Precisely why I find them to be such a hilarious cliché these days.. a big SUV in a dull colour and a personalised plate is no longer an individual car. Everyone has one!

I would say you're never more than 6-feet from an Audi - well round here anyway. I counted 9 in my local car park (of around 20 spaces) most were S-Line models too. Interestingly though the nearest Audi dealer is 40-odd miles away!

I suppose, being fair, there are only so many permutations but they do all seem to be Black with the occasional white one, neightbour had a very classy looking FFRR in a Sage green colour, very dignified, now has two RRS in white and black, which are nice cars but look flashy rather than tasteful, even the RRS can look reasonably tasteful in the right colour.

Drive past Stratstone at Knutsford virtually every one on the lot is black or grey.

Serious lack of imagination on the buyers part, must be hell when those private schools in Hale kick out, how do the little darlings know which is mummies', it's not like you could pick the least orange driver.

One of my neighbours has purchased a new RRS which he appears to have had pre-modified with a terrible body kit, matte black paint and wheels and additional LED DRLs.

I have to look at the damn thing every time I leave my house. I want to move. frown

I may have a black RR... smile

To be fair the previous one was silver, is that a dull colour? I dont think bright orange suits an RR

Or a 911 in re-sale silver, I must see 20 of them every day in the 10 minute walk from the station to the office.

Up in Lincolnshire:

Audi with SLime written on it (usually black car) somewhere = driver is typically male, middle class, aged 35-55

RRS in white or black = driven by wannabe MILF or wannabe WAG

RR Vogue in Black = middle class lady, pushing 50 and husband is wealthy

Battered E36 beemer 4door, with rottern arches, and with PL or LT on the numberplates

Astra Sport tt in black with black wheels, tints and 1.9ctdi on the back..... OH and a SPORT sticker somewhere. = male, aged 22-30, wants reliable, DIESEL (because on 6k per annum it works out FAR cheaper due to the fact they drive everywhere in 2nd flat out) and wants something "sporty" ... ahem, DONT BUY AN ASTRA DIESEL THEN!

Rant over.

RRS do seem to be absolutely everywhere. Surprisingly so for a £50-60k car.

I suspect you've hit the nail on the head in how they are viewed as affordable, but they still seem very common for that price of vehicle.

Nearly. But the OH paid for 'our' FFRR and it's her daily drive. I'm skint.
