biggrin Thanks, have you been there? Is it a whole day or a few hours? How much does it cost?

I went to the old museum. It was small but i became possessed whilst there.
They had to kick me out at the end of the day and i took over 150 pictures.

I would love to go to the new museum it looks much better in terms of facilities and display.
If you goto the PCGB web pages you should try and book a factory tour on the same day. These need to be booked in advance and cant be booked on the day.

I missed out on this and am planning to go back one day to do the new museum and the tour.

P.S. dont make the mistake of taking a taxi from the airport to the museum, when i went it cost me over 100 euros each way.

I went to the Museum in 92 as a Student and it was bloody excellent - do the Merc one too as they're not far from each other. The Porsche car collection is just one long drool fest - except for the metallic beige turbo cab driving simulator they had back then.

Its 10 euros i think plus parking [underground]

I have been twice as camera broke first time .

Its not that big,so 2 hours probably enough to cover it .

Deffo a good visit and only 5 mins from autobahn .

BTW,Mercedes is only down the road too and arguably even better smile

I went last year. We drove down from and back to the Nurburgring. It was well worth the trip, entrance fee is not expensive and the cafe offers good food at reasonable prices. You could get round in half a day but I would recommend a full day if you wish to study all of the exhibits in detail.

This could be important for me too as I've already convinced the other half to do a road trip holiday / take the scenic routes through the alps / visit a car museum, I might be pushing my luck with two hehe

Thanks for all the tips guys, looks like a will be definitely paying it (or maybe the Mercedes one) a visit!

Didn't do the Porsche one but we spent 4 hours at the Mercedes museum and I would have spent a little longer if my good woman wasn't with me. Truly excellent.

+1

Did the Mercedes museum last month.. made it to the porker factory, but was too late to spend a decent amount of time in the museum, so just drooled over the GT's in the showroom..

For me it would be the Porsche one (more racers in there smile ), but try and do both - I intend to go down there one weekend and visit both.

Are you going via Munich? If so, do the BMW one too smile
