What do you think about this?

I currently have 16" steels and can get some 15" VW alloys on the cheap. Am I going to look like the biggest loser?

Thanks

It probably isn't going to look great.

Possibly, but not as much of one as the VW guys with Porsche wheels, well, centre caps anyway biggrin

Stick Peugeot centres on them if you're bothered by it.

LOL. Ok then... Kind of working out if it will look better than steels... They are GTI alloys...

1 - do they fit? all cars don't have the bolt holes the same distance apart and the offset (how far it is from the bit with the bolt holes in to the outside or inside of the tyre) isn't always the same.

2 - are you going to put bigger profile tyres on to make up for the 1" loss in diameter, or leave them small to give better acceleration and have the engine screaming by the time you reach 60?

3 - Yes you'll look like a loser smile

Are you certain that they're the same PCD? If they're not, you'll definitely be a loser!

Well I've checked and my car has 5 bolt holes as well! So I am guessing its all standard.

I didnt know you had to change the tyres... It wont make too much difference.

For a start, the Golf is 5x100 and the 407 is 5x108 - you'll need adaptors at the very least. Plus, the bore is 65.1 on your car, whereas for most VAG stuff it's 57.1 so you'll need to get the middle machined out.

Certainly wont work out cheap

If your on about the Montreal 1's or 2's I really dont think they will suit a 407 SW. I'd just try get some higher spec model peugeot wheels from ebay.
Also as said above.. they might not fit, need to check PCD, ET.. etc

This Peugeot is 5 stud (but it's 108 so some newer Ford stuff might fit)

Mk4 Golf wheels are 5x100

A quick google suggests Pug 407 wheels are 5x108
