Despite regular cleaning of my car windscreen glass, I'm having problems with windscreen smear in light rainy conditions.
Does anyone know of a good screenwash that can effectively cut through the clag?
My regular Halford's mix does not have much effect.

I used to have the same problem.
Someone on here recommended this stuff.

It's superb- I use it on all my cars.

I bought some of the Halfords Advanced screenwash on the basis of this Auto Express test, and it's fine at shifting bugs and other grime from my screen. Haven't yet got any idea how well it will work in winter though.

I've found the standard Halfords concentrate to be pretty poor. The cheapo Car Plan stuff, on the other hand, is surprisingly good, just leave it concentrated to sub-zero temps & it should be fine.

I'd recommend forking out for a good set of wiper blades if yours are getting on. I was having the same problem, even after replacing mine (with cheap blades), eventually paid quite a bit for a set of genuine Mitsubishi ones and the difference was amazing. I hardly need any screen wash now and get no smearing at all.

Currently using cheapo Holts ready-mixed stuff from Tesco, it's crap but I was in a rush.

For all year use, absolutely.

However, for warm weather only use, I've found nothing that's as good as Clearalex sachets for shifting bugs/grease/tree-sap and ensuring a smear-free screen.

Wash you screen with a decent quality shampoo, then clay the glass. Wash again, clean your wiper blades with Autoglym Glass cream in the light blue bottle then empty and refill your washer bottle with Einszett. It is an excellent glass cleaner.

I'm sure you're not but its worth asking if you're using 'wash and wax' shampoo? If so it will be the wax doing it.

When I drove 40k+ a year I loved 'Clearalex'.

Little sachets of crysalised 'stuff'.

It was orzum, but I can't find it anywhere these days.

Having said that, I had corp' cars then and I might not be so keen to use it on my 22yo P&J without checking the indegrits!

I use their double concentrate. Had it at 50% mix in winter, still didnt freeze even when the car said it was -16 !

Is this a serious post or should I be expecting a whoosh parrot?

No screenwash even in winter?

+1 on the poster above who mentions new wiper blades.
