I think Grimsby has more per head of population than any where else in the UK. I've seen three of them today.

Discuss.

Edit: I think I meant Figaros, not Figaro's, didn't I?

Fair few in Harrogate too. Think they're the 'in' thing at the moment. There's an S-Cargo around as well which is the more interesting of these Micra derivatives. Wouldn't be seen dead in any of them mind.

Loads around Bristol to as there is a garage importing them by the dozen. Odd cars which don't appear to have a stereotypical owner.

I don't know if they're more popular in Grimsby than elsewhere but I did rear end one at Swiss Cottage in London in 2004 and it crumpled from the rear offside wing to the door. I didn't realise until that moment just how expensive these little things are. I think the repair was about £3k.

In Japan, you had to win a raffle just to be allowed to buy one if my memory serves me correctly! Very strange spec, small turbo engine, based on a Micra. I think they might all be auto too but I could be wrong.

There a Micra underneath, all Automatic, lovely retro style interior.

ISTR that the colours were based on the Seasons too - Spring/Green, Summer/Yellowy, Autumn/Beigey, Winter/Blue.

I think there neat, cool little town car with the opportunity to catch some rays when the suns out.

I guess there bought by people who might previously have bought a beetle or a Moggy minor - not petrolheads, jsut after an interesting car.

The difference being the Nissan wont be absolutely st, and dissolve in the rain or sometimes not start on days ending in Y.

The Pao is even cooler though - check this out (Different body on same mechanicals I think) -

What a great looking car.

Very nicely crafted wee things Figaros, lots of high quality materials and nifty details.

Absolutely. Not for the enthusiast, but certainly for people who appreciate car design at some level.

I'm more enthusiastic about seeing one of these than I am about seeing 90% of the cars on the road.

Quite a few of them round here. I like them, it's nice to see something different breaking up the monotony of the traffic.

No turbo and carbed engine, but also based on a K10 micra.

Anyone who doesn't like these funny little Nissans is a miserable bd. They're not performance cars, but they are cool.

Well the Pao's certainly better than a 2CV which it seems to take a lot of design cues from.
