How to spot an import car?

Hi, i'm looking at a Mazda 323 but am having some trouble getting a quote online using the number plate search.The format of the plate is P21 PVR -Does this suggest it's an import?

Run an insurance quote on one of the big websites, admiral or direct line etc where you can search for the car by reg number, pop it in and it'll bring up all of the details of model and trim.

Japanese imports often seem to have aftermarket screw-on fog lights, not integrated with the other rear lights.

OP - looks like a private plate possibly?

I doubt it is an import, if my JDM y0 knowledge serves me right the 323 was badged "Familia" in Japan.

Yep, lots of tell tale clues: square rear number plates, short VIN numbers, japanese labels, etc etc.

Some of the Japanese import 4x4 / mpv's have mirrors on the wings aswell. Seen a few CRV's like this.
