Can anyone recommend a good quality, I mean really good quality seat cover for an LS400?

The ones commonly found in shops always allow dampness through. I go mountain biking a lot, and when it rains I have to drive home with a filthy dirty back. I'd like a seat cover that stops all that dirt and moisture getting through - every last drop.

sounds like you need a full on 4X4 off road use seat cover

If your going to put a wet muddy bike in the back what you want is a small tarpaulin or plastic sheet on top of a blanket then at least you could hose the cover off.

I have a set like these for the works van:

Argos Link

Not exactly the best quality though.

Or these may be more to your liking:

Dear Mr P O Doom. You are putting a sh*t up MTB in the back seat of an LS 400, well you deserve everything you get. But, "helpfull mode on", why don't you just get a big piece of plastic/tarpaulin/any waterproof material, and drape it all over your rear seats. I'm sure they make the correct covers, but they'll be a complete money pit.

Think he means he has a dirty wet back which messes up his driver seat, not that he puts his dirty wet bike in the back!

Think I read it wrong then, why buy a seat cover, just take a clean t-shirt to change into.

Ah AHHHH, I see, sorry for being so dim, quite right your actual back.

So, me lad provided the same problem with his mucky/wet back, and we purchased, from e-bay, a SCOOBY STI seat cover. Full plastic jobbie with the STI emblem on the top bit, and it is toatally waterproof. Cost about £25 for the pair. Totally muck proof.

That does seem the logical answer. What are we missing?

Cyclists don't like taking their lycra off, it makes them feel less manly.

yes
The lycran folk do love that dirty, sweaty feeling about their persons. That way everyone can see just how fit and rugged and manly we are. biggrin

I'm sure Halfords were doing a pretty impressive seat cover a while ago. I've not had cause to use those for many a year.

The sheer amount of mud involved. A t-shirt would do nothing.

Gentlemen, I shall investigate Halfords, thanks.

I know, reminded me of this

but that would be lycanthrope.

I imagine the transformation to lycranthrope involves more squeaking.
