The Joy of car parks..

I had 2 dents put in the side of my car at the gym car park. It looks like they opened their door and hit mine, moved their car back 2 feet and did exactly the same thing. Identical dents, identical height and weren't there when I left the car!

ds, some people really do need to be shot.Tempted to invent a sort of bonnet bra... only for the whole side of the car. Not sure how well it would sell

A couple of times I have caught people doing it and they are very taken aback when they are rumbled. Their mumbled "sorry" is usually met with "Yeah, sorry you got caught"...

And people wonder why some park over 2 spaces! It's for exactly this reason.
For those of you on here who have said on past topics "it's only a dent/scratch", I'm afraid you're clearly mistaken.
I parked at the far end of the car park too (which was empty), specifically to avoid this sort of thing. For those of you on here who have said on past topics "it's only a dent/scratch", I'm afraid you're clearly mistaken.

There's your problem. According to some learned members here by parking away from the masses you're demonstrating that you look after your car. That means idiots belive you will look after their car and will want to park near your car or, as in this case, into your car.

Damn
I think I might just give up and park at a 45 degree angle over several spaces from now on.

Oh wait that will attract the keying brigade..
I have some sort of Ocd over car parks now, after suffering similar experiences, whether its my own car or company car, I refuse to come back to my car to find a dint in it, or scratch any more!. My wife has just give birth to our first child, obviously I had to park on the hospital car park, and yes there are so many more important things to worry about, but through all that time my car was parked up on the car park, I worried, I even got her mother in law to park her car next to mine, and park on the end of the car park, away from the entrance, so that chances of my 11 plate, 'look at me i'm a new car ready to scratch or get a dent,' were minimal.
I am sure there are people that are out there that like putting dents and scratches when they see a new car, maybe they are not happy in there lives, but I can honestly say I have never in 29 years opened my car door on anybody else's car.

I had to endure an M1 motorway services yesterday. Came back to the car, and the car that was parked next to me on one side had gone. We sat in the car for a few mins eating sarnies before another car took 4 attempts to park in the space. I spyed young girl about 5 years old in the back, and decided to exit quickly. As I pulled away, said girl flung the door open. Good job I wasn't there anymore!
Looks like it might need a paint job. A dent is normally easier to sort than a deep scrape, cost about £50 - £80, but that might end up costing £200+ if they do the whole door. And that's why I always park well away from any other vehicles and across two spaces. And if people don't like that they can chug on my fat cock.

I'm pretty OCD over car parks/parking but you take it to a whole new level! I avoid car parks like the plague, particularly supermarket ones - I do supermarket shopping online, and for fresh stuff/meat etc I use the local farm shop (quality is much better than supermaket tat anyway).
Seems that damage is STILL not avoidable... as Tesco provided me with a supermarket ding, direct to my door!
The trolley in this pic fell over as the driver took a box off it, and the uncovered metal handle bounced off the door of my car. Note the "we're trained to take care at Tesco.com" on the van, ironic or what! :

The damage:

To be fair they were pretty good in resolving it, no quibbling, I submitted a quote for the repair and had a cheque from them for £700 within 2 weeks.

You really can't win with people like this.
Went to the supermarket yesterday and parked in a row of empty car spaces some distance from the supermarket.
I hadn't even turned the ignition off when some dozy bimbo pulled into the space next to me - not the twenty or so empty spaces either side of me but the one right next to me.
Seriously, why would you do that?
