Paek in Parent and Child Spaces when I haven't got a child in my car? I had a a rather irate chap berate me for it. Thing is, I was actually going to collect my child from the creche. So I only felt the merest pang of guilt. I still moved the car though as I noticed he was hanging around waiting for me to leave...

If you're collecting a child I would say you're entitled to use it as you need the extra width to get your child in the car when you return.

I wouldn't search one out, but when previously faced with a full car park except for one I went straight in without a second thought.

I get annoyed when the "child" involved is about 10 or above. Surely the whole point is to allow people some room to get small kids out who aren't very subtle about how they do it and particularly babies in portable seats.

Disabled - no (wouldn't park in).

Parent & child - yes (would park in).

'i'm here to pick up my child from creche, is that ok with you?'

'Good, now fk off'

Would have been a reasonable responce.

I don't have kids but might start using this so I can park in these nice big spaces wink

Why didn't you just bodyslam him back to the Stone Age? I thought that was normal procedure on PH?

Question, at which point does it stop being `parent and child`. 5year old, 10year old, 16year old, etc,.
The reason I ask is because as my mother-in-law pointed out, she could park in there because she has her daughter with her, she is 78 and my sister in law is 50 but as the signs say,`parent and child`.
Didn`t argue cause as we all know, the mother-in-law is always right.

Another guy started a thread on here about using the disabled bay outside his grandmother's house and the old goat nextdoor hassling him about it even though he was parking there to pick her up and drop her off from her house. I don't like to stand by and see wrongdoing but some people always seem to be itching for a fight and like to wade in and have a go at people without really knowing the situation.

There seems to be a large number of these threads nowadays, that's for sure.

I miss the old days, threads criticising convertible owners for driving with their roofs up and berating foglight wkers, back when it were all fields like.

Where was the space? General parking? Supermarket? Specifically for the Creche?

As a parent with a 10 year old a 2 year old and an imminent arrival of another I find it very irritating when I see non-parents in a parent and child space and there are no spaces for me. I need a wide space to get the little one out of the car without bashing the car next to mine.

I'll only use a parent and child space when i've got the small one with me - my self and the 10 year old are quite capable of using a normal space and walking a little further.

The symbol in the space is one of a pushchair - indicating that it's for parents with pushchair age children. Not lazy teenagers.

hehe

I think I'm going to keep the 993.

I just wish that I hadn't just been offered £££ more than I paid for it, I wouldn't even be entertaining such daft thoughts otherwise.

CSLs are nice though...

I had this last week at the supermarket. I guess it must be a semantics argument with some people. My missus is 8 months pregnant at the mo and is now finding it quite difficult to walk a fair distance, so I parked in a parent and child space (There where quite a few free) Some dobbers asked us if we knew we'd parked in a "F-cking child space" It was only afterwards that I wondered what the term Parent and child covers with regard to age and need etc ?
