hehe

Only 12 Sunbeam Ti's left...... eek

Mind you they weren't easy to find back in 1986 when I bought mine!!!!!!

[I guess though this is current VED cars, not cars that may be on SORN...or sitting in a barn or lock up somewhere with a lapsed VED.....???]

This is true. Look at the list of Aston martins:

Rapide. Over 12,000 on the roads in 2001 (!)
The Virage Vantage( I presume they mean the twin blower version) 10,000 odd. They made less then 300. 1300 DB1 (they made less then 20)...

Very appor show. And these people are responsable for a lot of other important information about ourselves.

A few things don't add up...

For Example:

Ford Focus ST500 - 859

Surely there should be at most, 500? as only 500 we made no?

And:

Volkswagen Golf SE - 3

I've seen more than 3 myself...

I don't get it, someone please correct me...

Comes down to data quality again. Multiple vehicle desriptions being set up for the same model. For example look at VW: There are apparently only 2 Golf S TDi in existence. I can see 2 in our company car park!

And we wonder why they constantly make mistakes...

The trouble is this is wholly reliant on what's recorded on the logbook, and that is dependant on who filled that out in the very begining when the car was new.

I can remember years and years ago, in respect of the Mk1 RS Escorts, there would be a huge variation in how the models were recorded on logbooks depending how they were registered when new.
I've seen RS2000 logbooks with the model registered as just an Escort, as an Escort RS and as an Escort RS2000.
So, on this DVLA list you couldn't find out how many Mk1 RS2000's are left because they could be split over three categories and over two types (Mk1 and Mk2)

I think I may need to dump all that into SQL tonight and make a little webby front-end to make it a little more user friendly.

By far the most popular car in the UK is the 'Other British Missing'. There are a staggering 265558 of these mysterious vehicles on the roads.
