Just the three hours for a fill-up from one of these 10 HPCs eh? Sounds convenient.... not. Still, if they can eventually get a cluster of HPCs into every town and city across the country - then great.

What if someone else is using the HPC charging point? How many are being installed at each location?

When "they" have managed to make an electric car, that doesn't cost more than a normal one, let us all know, until then "who cares"................ :-)

If the car has a range of 212 miles and they travelled 900 miles, why did they have to recharge seven times?

I'd like to know how easy it is to charge mutiple cars in 3 hours, can you run 100kVA to a location like a hotel or do they have
to install many more cables for that kind of thing.

Because electric cars state a range as a theoretical max, in other words it'll only happen with some people pushing it for around half of those miles. The ideal conditions required to cover that range doesn't exist in the real world where it rains and has hills etc.

How utterly pointless.

I did it in one stint in 14.5 hours. That was pointless too, but quicker.

11 idiots filling up at my local petrol station tonight. all of them drove in and out within 10 mins, including the divs who seem to expect to do their week's grocery shopping at filling stations.

10000 locations in the UK currently operating like this. none of which need fukushima daiichi next door to supply them.

I think you're confusing Rolls Royce with TVR just a bit wink

An electric power plant is IMO ideally suited to the remit of a large luxury car, they're massively heavy anyway and minimal noise and max torque from zero rpm couldn't be better matched to such a vehicle. Far more so than a lightweight sports car application where the weight of the batteries is a performance, packaging and handling consideration. Rolls or the Tesla, I know which electric car I'd rather tackle an 800+ mile schlep in cloud9

Although I'd rather take the "peasant" option and "make do" with the boggo V12...
