Hi owned my car for over 3 years now and never had a problem drives and looks perfect. Got it up for sale at the mo and the 'buyer' has HPI'd it and is saying it was cat d damaged in june 2001 which is obviously going back quite a bit and i wasn't the owner at the time.

I have been onto the insurer it was apparently insured with at the time AXA, the DVLA and VOSA none of which have any records showing what damage was done if any.

Is there a way of finding out?

Thanks

Sorry, cant help with your query but......

I enquired about a car today with a view to traveling 200 miles to see.
Asked them any issues, hpi etc
came back with its all clear
I though i'd hpi it and it was Cat C
I was fuming

so, make sure you let anyone know
For me, I might have still been interested as I have enquired about several Cat D's

good luck with your sale though

HI mate i will do. Just want to clarify what it was as anyone I have spoken to doesn't have any records of it being cat d damaged.

I was going to HPI it myself but not sure if i'd get the right info?

HPI are pretty good at ensuring their information is accurate but it is quite possible they've made a mistake. Ring them and tell them what has happened, ideally quoting all the details from the "suspect" report and go from there.
