What's faster ... a volvo estate or a Yamaha R1 superbike ?
Discussion
think I have seen this a long while ago
the bike has to ease the throttle back, but the volvo is good for sure

are you saying the bike weighs the same as the volvo ?
You said that the bike has had tuning as well, only weighing about 200kg. Thats the normal weight for an R1.So comparing a heavily tuned turbo car to a standard road bike isn't quite a level playing field.
There is no car that can be bought new that will even begin to come close to the R1 in performance for a similar price.

yes but level it up and if the volvo came as standard weighing 200kg it would murder the bikeSo comparing a heavily tuned turbo car to a standard road bike isn't quite a level playing field.

That's like saying if Arnold Schwarzenegger came in as a ten year old girl he would be stronger than all other 10 year old girls... Kinda obvious really.
yes and its also like saying, bikes are fast on straights .... kinda obvious really given how much they weigh and not remotely clever or impressivenext time you do a wheelie on the M25 thinking that I am looking at you in awe, bear in mind that ALL I see is a grasshopper with a W16 attached to it ... not clever and relatively speaking, once everything has been equated fairly, not fast either
give me an elise with a paltry 118bhp and with its incredible poise, balance and body control momentum drive it through some lanes .... now THATS fast

Eh? Level it up ... how?You mean stick a good 1200kg+ of ballast on the bike?
Or maybe to truly level it up and strap a turbo on the bike, put on a longer swing arm, different gearing, and then the guy in the ovlov wouldn't see the bike for tyre smoke.
I really don't know what you're trying to say here at all. The original video showed a heavily tuned T5 just out accelerating a stock Yamaha R1. This proves .... precisely nothing.

(I'm not a biker, got my license years back, will own one at some point, so only ridden a motorbike for 6 days)I haven't driven an Elise, and whilst its likely a hugely entertaining drive, is it really going to be more fun than a motorbike? I really, really doubt it.
