BMW 130i - worth trading a Type R for?

Hi all, looking for a bit of advice.
I've currently got a launch 07 FN2 Type R GT. Had it for the past two years, and have enjoyed it, despite the awful ride quality. I've been looking around and have spotted a nice 130i :
Dec 05 BMW 130i M Sport in Le Mans Blue with 30k on the clock. Seems mint in every way, alloys and leather unmarked etc.
I haven't got a definitive spec list, but it has heated leather, front and rear parking sensors and bluetooth.
It's up for £9995, but they are offering around £1000 more than book price on my trade in, so it would cost around £1500 to change.
Any thoughts? Anything I should watch out for/look for.

Great little cars - we had one. Not the largest for rear space, but unless you kart adults about in the back all the time, not an issue for most.
3.0 straight six is a peach, and nothing to worry about - check for full and detailed service history, and usual accident damage, crap wheel refurbs, run flats are expensive to replace (and many think non runflats are an improvement).

I've seen that before, I do like the R32's but unfortunately they seem to command a bit of a premium over the 130 on the second hand market. That and the tax being a lot higher, fuel economy worse puts me off a little.the 130 caught my interest because of the good trade value I've been offered and it seems a like a great car.

Joking aside, I hear they're awesome little cars and one of those is pretty much the top of my list for my next daily driver.

I meant on the 130i, Verysideways 130i is immense he has the Motorsport 6pot big brake kit from BMW aswell as BM performance exhaust etc...... o yeah and the Quaiffe, it certainly helps towards his PH account name

In fact, the 130i may well be remembered as one of the last great NA rwd petrol BMWs.
The engine is a peach. Great noise, fantastic response, pulls well low down, screaming top end. Surprisingly economical too.

They are the same person ........
'05 is an early car, but 30k is a reasonable mileage... so pricing is in the right ballpark.
What colour interior? I wouldn't buy one without satnav and xenons, but there are many on the market without.
Cracking car and I should imagine it will be a step up from the Type R... but then I am a bit biased

Interior is black leather.. Dont think there are xenons and I'm not fussed on nav, but I realise this has quite an effect on residuals! What colour interior? I wouldn't buy one without satnav and xenons, but there are many on the market without.

These seem to becoming something of a performance bargain of late; this is one of many threads I have replied to!
The car? Its a gem. Sure, its no looker, but it is dynamically superior to (m)any of the other hot hatches in its price bracket. It sounds superb, way better than the banshee scream of the Type R, and is reasonably frugal and cheap to run.
Ive had mine nearly 2 years and it replaced a long line of very good cars, none of which were kept longer than 12months. That in itself says it all.
I have tracked mine, been on a drift track, took it on some of North Wales' finest roads, and done plenty of the mundane miles back and two to work. Its never grumbled, never moaned and has asked only for some new tyres, pads and disks, and the routine fluid changes. The disks and pads I did myself; simple stuff.
It will be quicker than your civic and more dynamically pleasing. It will sound better, steer better and oversteer more readily. The seats are supportive, the stereo is good...but the back seats aren't great...
So, there you have it, a balanced, unbiased review
