Sadly, I am facing having to get rid of my little baby. It pains me so much, but it may have to be done. The missus thinks it would be a good idea to go down to one car and, sadly, I have to agree with her - I've got a m-bike for getting to work and she walks the 250 yards to hers so having £15k worth of cars on the driveway is a little pointless.

We currently have two cars, my M3 and her VW Bora. We would like to have a workhorse as the Bora has proved invaluable in the past year or so (doing up the house etc), but I just can't get my head around the fact that I won't be able to floor it for fun anymore. The original plan was to keep the Bora and sell the M3, pocketing a tidy little sum for when (if) Baby T comes along, but I'm starting to think of alternatives so need to pick the brains fo the PH collective!

So, what car would tick the box of being a little bit of fun for me, sensible enough to tug a trailer full of crap to the tip, would take a full drum kit in the boot and also safe enough for a little crap-machine to go in the back?

Insurance isn't much of a worry, economy would be a nice to have but doesn't bother me in the slightest and budget of about £10-£11k would leave us enough from the sale of both cars to enjoy.

So far, I'm kind of looking at AMG mercs (http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/2778460.htm) and even an S-class (although not sure why!). I do like some estates (A/S/RS4's, newer 3 series etc) but think it may perhaps be more than we need, although maybe not!

Over to the masses!

Ok I will bite,

As you have said the RS Audi's, //M Power BMW and AMG Mercs I won't re-hash over
them again. Although I think they might fit the bill perfectly.

Some suggestions.

BMW 330I M-Sport

Ride may be too firm on M-Sport though...

Ford Focus ST*

You said MPG isn't a big thing, maybe too small though.

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2011...

Ford Mondeo ST

If the Focus is too small.

Mazda 6 MPS

Quite understated actually.

Slightly left field Choice

Vauxhall Zafira VXR

Maybe not much fun but great Flex-7 seating.

You may not like some suggestions but I tried to think of all Avenues.

There are not many there but my Tea is nearly ready.

That's the kind of thing!!! Gorgeous!

E39 M5, I'm not too keen on in all honesty. Cracking cars, but there's something about them that I just don't like.

330m sport is a good suggestion, but I'll be getting rid of an M3 to get this, so something a little more left field is probably on the menu. I do like the Mazda 3 though, not considered them!
