Another Newbie saying Hi
Discussion
Hi,
Just thought I would make myself known. I've been meaning to join for a long time and just got around to doing so.
I am looking forward to getting involved in the general banter. Seems like a great site and not being used to forums of this size, I hope it doesn't take too long to settle in. Another forum I do belong to is nowhere near the size for very obvious reasons (which will come to light in a mo).
A bit about me - bit of a petrol nut really. Have been since I left school over 2.5 decades back. Work for uncle Henry at Ford, trying to forecast the future used car values of Ford models. Believe me, it's crystal ball time and fun. One of the few people in the country who could say they enjoy their job. I get to drive/review some of the pre-launch models before Henry places them out for the public. It also gets me involved with all the markets across Europe, looking at vehicle legislation, taxation, fuel economy - everything that affects you and I on the roads.
But that is where the sensible head stops. When not trying to work out future values, spend a lot of time trying to keep 5 cars on the road - 3 of them which probably would be construed as rare (hence the reason for my comment on car club/forum size I also belong to). Here's a taster:-
This one, I bought in 2003, covered 25k miles in that time. Never received an official count but probably less than 100 of these TT RSK Legacies in the UK. Put better into perspective - I have never seen another on the roads here whilst driving - and I do 30k per year. Part of the Jap flare, having spent the 1st 4 yrs in the east. Pushes out a fairly healthy 305bhp from 2000cc's.

Next of the 3 is starting to become a bit of a classic. Given some of the pedigree on here - I'll leave to your discretion whether it could be described as a classic masterpiece or classic nightmare.
Owned by my parents since 1987 with the horrible kit placed on in the fashion of 1988, I have taken over the care of this car. Genuine 80k miles in its 26yr history. Not the best out there - certainly nowhere near the worst. Like all of my cars, fit for the road and ready to drive.

Final one of the 3 sort of takes the theme from the 1st car. Another of the banzai brigade but in the comfortable wagon form. Don't get me wong - this may look like a conservative wagon, fit for carrying the family and dogs or maybe a wardrobe or fridge freezer in the back, but this another of the "close to 300 horse" brigade. Catches a number of people out when wagons shouldn't really go that fast. Had this one just over the year mark and, I suppose, I must like these Q cars. Again, there won't be many of these in the country - probably a little more than the RSK. From an outside perspective, you see one of these or the black RSK above and you may not really know what you are up against. This is the same spec as the RSK and both are able to touch the 170mph marker.

Well after a waffly first post, thanks for reading it. I hope that gives you a little insight to my stable and possibly some rarer cars you don't see day to day.
